In Maharashtra and Goa, over 150 children across 11 centers undergo speech & Language training, with one center offering residential services. Financial constraints, lack of education, and limited access to medical facilities often hinder families, especially in rural areas, from availing Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Audiological Tests for their hearing-impaired children. Recognizing the critical developmental period for language skills in children aged 0 to 6 years, Cochlea Pune is committed to overcoming these challenges.
Understanding that parents may face difficulties reaching the necessary services during this crucial period, Cochlea Pune has taken the initiative to establish Speech and Language Training Centers in both urban and rural areas. By setting up centers at the village level, preferably within hospital premises, the organization aims to bridge the gap and ensure that hearing-impaired children receive the essential support they need. The ultimate goal is to reach as many children as possible, providing them with the necessary tools to speak and integrate successfully into mainstream education.
